About

I am a Dutch-Portuguese artist and ecologist, based in the Netherlands. In my interdisciplinary practice, I engage with cultural and spiritual traditions connected to ecological knowledge systems and forms of collectivity. I examine how these traditions have been shaped by colonial histories, and how this knowledge continues to exist and evolve in contemporary contexts.

I develop long-term projects in collaboration with tradition bearers, researchers, and communities, in which collective reflection, exchange, and creation are central. These collaborative processes form the foundation of the work and determine the direction of each project.

This results in installations, archives, and sculptures with shared authorship, through which it becomes visible how these knowledge systems have been interrupted, displaced, and at the same time continue to persist.

The materials used vary per project and are directly connected to the cultural, historical, and geographical context of the tradition in question.
